Job summary

The English Language Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in English Language, fostering learners’ communication, reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills, and promoting academic excellence and moral discipline in line with the vision and values of Al-Faizun Academy.

Responsibilities

  • 1. Teach English Language to pupils/students from assigned classes in accordance with the Nigerian curriculum and school scheme of work.
  • 2. Prepare detailed lesson plans, lesson notes, instructional materials, and classroom activities before each lesson.
  • 3. Assess students through classwork, assignments, projects, tests, examinations, and continuous assessment activities.
  • 4. Encourage reading culture through literature activities, debates, spelling competitions, public speaking, and writing exercises.
  • 5. Maintain effective classroom management and a disciplined, respectful learning environment.
  • 6. Integrate technology and innovative teaching methods into English instruction where appropriate.
  • 7. Participate in school assemblies, meetings, training sessions, clubs, competitions, and extracurricular activities.
  • 8. Collaborate with other teachers to improve curriculum delivery and student outcomes.
  • Uphold the school’s values, code of conduct, and safeguarding policies.

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.Ed., B.A. Ed., or B.A.) in English, English Education, Linguistics, Literature in English, or a related field.
  • TRCN registration or willingness to obtain it.
